Why MCI? People come to MCI for many different reasons. Some come to experience the tight-knit community. Others come to take part in our excellent music program. Still others come to explore their faith in an intentionally Christian environment. Whatever their reasons for coming, students at MCI often discover something they never want to leave. This "something" is the MCI difference. It's classrooms and hallways that aren't overflowing with students. It's a place where you don't have to worry about how you dress. It's a group of teachers and staff that care about you as an individual. It's a student body where friendships develop across grades and last long after graduation. It's an environment where matters of religion and faith aren't silenced, but embraced, wrestled with, and addressed head-on. The following are reflections of MCI students, alumni, and staff. It is our hope that their experiences will give you glimpse into what MCI has to offer prospective students. Community "MCI is a place where you learn that it's actually OK to be yourself. It's an open an accepting community that wouldn't want to be anyone else." - Lauren Harms, Class of 2010 "At MCI, students grow into the people they are meant to be, as opposed to the people their peers want them to be. It's the only place where I have seen teenagers be this accepting and supportive of others." - Johanu Botha, Class of 2008 Music "With God’s guidance, and encouragement from the choral director, I was able to start believing in myself, and not let fear hold me back. My gift really grew throughout my four years at MCI. I feel blessed to have had the time in the music program that I did. The confidence that I gained there has continued to have a wonderful effect on my life." - Jen (Friesen) Fast, Class of 2003 To get a fuller sense of what MCI life is really like, check out our promotional videos.
