Mennonite Collegiate Institute, located in Gretna, Manitoba is a provincially accredited independent Anabaptist Christian high school (Gr. 9-12). Principal

Required Qualifications

We seek applicants with a strong record of leadership in educational administration. To hold the title of Principal, the successful applicant must have a valid teaching certificate in the Province of Manitoba. An exceptional applicant without a teaching certificate may also be considered, but that applicant, if successful, would hold an alternative title.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for renewing and strengthening the mission of MCI, building on the work done by our current interim leadership. We seek a person with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and an ability to inspire and motivate through collaboration.
  • Strong affinity with the school’s mission, goals, and faith statement, and an ability to provide pastoral care and leadership.
  • Demonstrated passion for and understanding of high school Christian education, with a record of educational innovation.
  • Experience working with key stakeholder groups, including students, teachers, parents, churches, alumni, donors, and the community.
  • Clear ability to initiate, guide, and coordinate projects and policies.
  • Outgoing and personable, with an ability to connect to a wide variety of people.
  • Effective communication skills—both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong acumen in financial planning and management.
  • A post-graduate degree in a related field (e.g., education, theology, business) will be considered an asset.

Required Qualifications

Successful candidates must hold a valid Manitoba Teachers Certificate, demonstrate a maturing Christian faith and affinity with the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective (1995).

Part Time/Full Time Cook

Come join our Kitchen Team! We are looking to hire a part to full-time cook starting immediately. This position could be a term from now to the end of June, or long term, depending on interest.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • As an organization working with students, we require a clear criminal record and no vulnerable sector offences
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including 2 evenings/week and up to 2 weekends/month
  • 1-year of cooking experience (Preferred)
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork

Job Duties

• Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements when needed
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
