Thursday, May 14 MCI welcomed a special guest to its morning chapel on Thursday. Harry Buhler of Edmonton, AB shared a message of hope with the student body. Buhler recounted parts of his life story as he emphasized the importance of making the right choices, hard work, and community. Beginning with his parents' immigration to Canada from a violent situation in Russia, Buhler told a story of success despite humble beginnings. He shared of his journey in business from earning $6/day to overseeing a company with sales of over $200 million per year. Buhler's presentation coincided with a memorial he created in his late son's memory. The memorial honours Rodney Jason Buhler, through a contribution of $100,000 to MCI's Buhler Hall. As a part of Mennonite Collegiate Institute, Buhler Hall operates under the belief that the arts can be a transformative expression of the Christian faith. Buhler Hall offers students a place to explore and develop their God-given talents as performers. As a part of the local community, Buhler Hall strives to be a steward of the arts by providing amateur performers with a professional experience and exposing local audiences to a variety of world-class performances. --- We are very grateful for Mr. Buhler's gift to our school. We are honoured that he would choose to to partner with us to remember his son, Rodney.
