Choosing a high school is a difficult decision for anyone to make. Between courses, programs and athletics there are a lot of factors to consider. Admissions Overview

MCI’s primary calling is to serve Mennonite young people, but it welcomes non-Mennonite students who are open to exploring their own religious values and commitments while studying here. We welcome students of every race, nationality and religious belief.

Applicants should understand and support the goals of the school’s academic and residence program. Morals and personal behaviors must be compatible with the life and values promoted at MCI. Applicants and parents/ guardians make a commitment of cooperation with the administration and staff of the school.

Acceptance priority is given in the following sequence in the event of a high enrollment:
1. Students from member churches and children of alumni
2. Students from Manitoba
3. Students from outside Canada.

Application Procedure For Domestic Students

Submission of the following items for application completion

1. Non-refundable $200.00 deposit along with application form
2. Final report Card for any high school course taken, and a mid-year progress report for the current year of study. Final report card is due upon student registration in September. Students applying for Grade 9 can submit a mid-year progress report and their Grade 7 final report card.
3. Three reference letters from the 3 referees, mailed to us by the chosen candidates
4. Medical Form completed and signed by parent/guardian
5. Public Health Form completed and signed by parent/guardian
6. Guidelines form signed and dated by student and parent or guardian.

A student will receive a letter of acceptance in the mail upon completion of the previous steps and admission into MCI. Information regarding the upcoming school year will be included with details on pre-registration, uniforms and roommate assignments. Official class registration will be completed in September.

 

Application Procedure for International Students

Submission of the following items for Application completion:

1. Application fee of $50.00 along with the application form
2. A non-refundable tuition of $2000.00 is due within 15 days of acceptance from the school in order to ensure a place at MCI for the upcoming school year.
3. Official certified transcript, issued by the school which shows the highest academic level attained to date.
4. 1 reference letter – mailed to us by the chosen candidate
5. Medical Form completed and signed by parent/Guardian
6. Balance of the fee owing for the whole year is due by August 1 and is encouraged by the Canadian Customs authorities

An official letter of acceptance will be issued once the student is accepted. This letter must be used to obtain the necessary student authorization to study in Canada. Those students who are applying for the four month Language study program may be exempt from acquiring student authorization due to the visitor status in Canada. Students must have in possession a Student Visa (if required) and a valid passport. Applying for medical insurance is completed at registration.
